He has published more than 100 research articles dealing with kidney function; the effects of stress, infection, and exercise on the body; and the toxicity of heavy metals. Dr. Vander is the author of several physiology textbooks for undergraduates and medical students, as well as a general audience book titled Nutrition, Stress, and Toxic Chemicals. He has received numerous national and university awards and honors for both his teaching and research.
